Emily Zhang

Emily Zhang, MA (she/her) is a Clinical Interviewer in the Response to Risk Research Program. 

Emily Zhang, MA, is a Clinical Interviwer in the Response to Risk Research Program. She is currently completing her clinical practicum at the CEDAR Clinic, where she provides individual, family, and group therapy to support adolescents and young adults who are at clinical high risk for psychosis.

Academic: Emily is a PhD Candidate in Counseling Psychology at Boston College. She earned her BA in Community Health and Child Study & Human Development and her MA in Clinical Developmental Health and Psychology from Tufts University.  

Interests and Experience: Emily is passionate about increasing access to and equity in mental health care for marginalized populations, particularly those affected by trauma and serious mental illness. In her research and clinical work, Emily aims to take a collaborative approach that makes space for the nuance and complexity within people’s lived experiences by grounding her work in relational, culturally sensitive, and social justice-oriented frameworks. Prior to her doctoral training, Emily worked with Asian American and Chinese immigrant communities to research and develop community-based mental health interventions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She also volunteered with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) to facilitate greater community engagement and awareness of sexual violence.
