Colette Potts, EdM, MS

Colette Potts, EdM, MS is the Director of Recruitment and Community Engagement at Response to Risk Research.

Colette Potts, EdM, M.S is the primary clinician in the BIDMC UPLIFT study and leads recruitment efforts to bring awareness to the community about available Response to Risk programs and studies. She also serves as a clinical consultant, collaborating with area providers to assess the appropriateness of fit for our studies or to locate existing resources for youth in their communities.

Academic: Colette holds a Master of Science degree in family therapy from the University of Massachusetts Boston and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, specializing in assessing risk in children and designing prevention programming to address the risk. Her graduate internship was as an in-home therapist, working primarily with families managing mental health disorders in the family and their effect on the family's functioning.

Interests and Experience: Prior to joining Response to Risk Research, Colette was working as a substance abuse counselor in a rehabilitation clinic. She was primarily responsible for leading psychoeducational groups, evaluating clients at intake, and developing treatment plans for longer-term care. In addition, Colette has experience working in pastoral settings, designing and implementing an empathy-based curriculum for children and families to use the gifts of their communities to decrease risk, increase resilience, and communicate values of care and love.
